Bedpan Washer Disinfectors

Designed to empty, wash and disinfect reusable human waste containers such as bedpans, commode pots and urine bottles, DDC Dolphin’s Panamatic range of bedpan washer disinfectors incorporate the most advanced infection control technology.

Efficient, reliable and cost-effective, a bedpan washer will dispose of hazardous human waste much more quickly and effectively than traditional hand washing methods, whilst minimising clinicians’ exposure to harmful bacteria.

Available as front or top-loading machines, a washer disinfector disposes of human waste directly into the sewerage system, whilst simultaneously washing and disinfecting the reusable utensil.

In addition, all of our machines are made from a minimum grade 304 stainless steel, with patented antimicrobial surfaces, which both help to minimise cross infection and reduce the possibility of microbial growth.

Not only do we supply washer disinfectors, but in the UK we are an NHS hospitals preferred supplier for the service, maintenance and validation of all brands of equipment in sluice rooms – so we can provide you with a full 360° service.

We are also a trusted infection prevention partner for care homes all around the world, providing them with sluice room machinery and servicing.

How Does A Bedpan Washer Work?

DDC Dolphin bedpan washers are opened and closed using a hands-free optical sensor, foot cup/plate or elbow buttons – so your staff never need to touch the machine with their hands and risk spreading infection.

Once open, you simply load the reusable bedpans onto the internal rack and close the lid or door. The cycle can be programmed to start automatically and will be complete in as little as 6 minutes – leaving your staff free to get back to more important tasks.

Fixed and rotating wash nozzles direct water towards the utensils to maximise dispersal of waste, but also minimise water wastage. There is a steady flow of water to the drain to remove human waste and prevent blockages and residue build-up in the pipes.

The steam generated by the machine heats the internal chamber to 80°C – the temperature required to kill or denature harmful bacteria. DDC Dolphin machines are guaranteed to stop the spread of 3 major HCAIs: Clostridium difficile (C. diff), Escherichia coli (E.coli) and norovirus.
